Day 14

77 km, Lübeck-Schwerin

As planned, we slept long today, and we started at 13.30. This was the first cloudy  day since leaving Norway, what a change! We got quite used to the warmness and sunshine. :-)

With nice tailwind, we were riding quite fast, having our first and last break (Snickers and apple) at 40 km, right opposite to a field full of cows. They were staring at us continuously, see the picture down. :D Their staring made us uneasy, so we left.

We reached the city of Schwerin at 70 km, having ridden with an average of 24 kmh. Nice job! At this point we were really hungry for some real food, and finally we found a nice little restaurant (which was recommended by a local) just outside of the city centre. During eating (delicious 3-course-meal), the wind got quite strong and it got colder, and we (especially Orsi) became sleepy. We realized there is not so much point continuing riding towards the next town today, so we rather found a place to stay for the night.

The city centre of Schwerin looks beautiful - we are glad that we stopped here for tonight. We finished the day with a light 3 km run at the lake. We look forward to cycle a longer route tomorrow!

Good night! :-)

PS.: Bicycle roads between cities are very nice (of course they are totally  missing sometimes), but in the cities the cycle path is not asphalt but *bricks*, very annoying! In villages you can choose between cycling on the car road (cobblestones) or on the pavement (bricks). Well, we both had enough of the shaky roads.. oh well, more to come.. ;-)
