Day 10

104 km, Århus-Kolding

Starting at 10.20,  with sunshine, 20+ degrees and tailwind, we presented our earliest starting time.

At 20 km tough, seeing that we are back to the main rode, Orsi wanted to stop - she hit kind of a mental wall after all. But then a car driver stopped next to us (he even altered his route) and offered his help; explained the route for us and gave us a paper map of Denmark . Thank you, Danish driver in the white car, you came when it was well needed! He explained, tough it might seemed as a busy main road, it was one of the quietest roads we could take. Good for us! :-)

We didn't ride more than 5 km when we passed next to an ostrich park. Of course we had to make photos with them! :P

At 40 K, in Horsens (its coat of arms is a horse of course), we ate lunch then we continued on towards Vejle. Both cities look very nice: not following the GPS route has certain advantages - otherwise we could not have seen the city centers.

The last 60 km went surprisingly much faster and easier then the first part, and by 20.30 we arrived to Kolding. We already slept in Kolding once before so we knew very well where we would stay tonight: Hotel Koldingfjord! Beautiful, modern, castle-like hotel just next to the fjord, highly recommended! We got a wonderful room with a huge balcony and fjord view, so we decided to eat the dinner on the balcony. :-)
Just before eating dinner, we went for a short jogging tour around the hotel. Orsi's ankle felt quite good again (she injured it the day after Tromsø Marathon), Isak had no problem either in his FiveFingers shoes.

Just after removing all the luggage from the bike, we tried how it feels to use it without additional weight. It was actually hard to balance, surprisingly!

Both yesterday and today we kept an average speed of almost 21 kmh. That's quite a good speed for us!

We passed 1000 km just after arriving to Kolding, which means there is less than 1400 km to go. ;)
